Your product catalogue lives in a Google Sheet. It is the only thing you need to manage in order to keep your store up to date. This guide explains what each column means and how to make changes.
Your spreadsheet at a glance
When you open your Google Sheet you will see a row of column headers across the top. Each column controls something specific about your products. If you ever forget what a column does, click on the header cell — we leave a note inside every column explaining exactly what it is and how to use it.
The columns
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Title |
The name of your product as it appears on the store. |
| Description | A short description shown on the product page. |
| Category |
The section of your store this product belongs to. Use a comma to add more than one. |
| Tags |
Specific labels that help customers find products. Use a comma to add more than one. |
| Price |
The selling price in pounds. Numbers only, no £ symbol. |
| Sale price | The reduced price if on sale. Leave blank if not on sale. |
| Stock | How many units you have available. |
| Status | Published — visible on your store. Draft — hidden. Only Published products appear on your website. |
Making changes
Adding a new product
Add a new row at the bottom of your product list and fill in each column. Set Status to Published when you are ready for it to appear, or Draft to prepare it in advance.
Editing an existing product
Find the product’s row and update whichever cells need changing. There is one column — noted in your personal pack — that should never be changed. This is your product’s unique identifier and changing it can cause problems with how the store recognises the product.
Removing a product
Change the Status column to Draft to hide a product without deleting it. If you want to remove it permanently, delete the row entirely — but Draft is usually the safer option as it means you can bring the product back at any time.
When will my changes appear on the store?
Your spreadsheet and your store sync automatically — you do not need to do anything to trigger an update. The exact time this happens is agreed during your setup and noted in your personal pack.
We usually schedule the sync for the early hours of the morning — typically around 2am — when no customers are browsing. Any changes you make during the day will appear on your store overnight, ready for the next morning.
We do it this way for two reasons: syncing during quiet hours avoids slowing the store down during busy periods, and it means products only go live when you are ready — not mid-afternoon while you are still working on them.
A note on column header comments
Every column header in your spreadsheet has a comment attached — a small note from OMGLASERSPEWPEW explaining what the column does and any important rules to follow. If you are ever unsure about a column, hover over the header cell and the note will appear. You do not need to keep this guide open while you work.
